Thanks Mom!

This is a pic of my mom, me and my little guy! On Mother’s Day, it is easy to think about all of the things you love about being a mom!! One of the things that I love about being a mom, is that it in becoming a mom I started to realize how much my own mother sacrificed for me. It gave me a better understanding of why she was so may things that I just didn’t understand growing up. Looking back over the years, I realize how blessed I am to have the mother that I have. She laid those foundational blocks of love, support, morals, and God in my life.  She would sacrifice anything at anytime for her children. We jokingly, in my family, refer to her as “The Defender of the World”.. b/c she is always pulling for the underdog in any situation. You can forget talking about anyone around her, she will quickly be on their side. It was always a good thing as a kid though, you knew mom would have your back no matter what.. and even though we pick on her about it, I am sure being the world’s defender is much better than being the world’s persecutor. Above all, becoming a mom helped me to see the real person my mom was. We tend not to understand how real our parents are and how hard things can be on them. … so thanks mom.. for all you did for me as a child, and then for letting me go when it was time, and for now being my shopping partner, confidant, friend and the best Nana ever. I love you!
