Contact

At Oasis, we have a Karate and Jiu Jitsu class, which I take.. it is so much fun.  Our Sensei was teaching us a certain move last night and he talked about maintaining contact with our partner.  He used it to teach about maintaining contact with God.  We each when practicing wanted to lean away from our partner, or even try to elude them, especially when it started to get a little uncomfortable.  We wanted to practice the technique, but from a distance. It was not possible to even do it correctly from a distance.  Isn’t that the way we are with God.  We want to live for Him, and be passionate.. but when it starts to get uncomfortable we tend to back off a little.  We can’t  live in true purpose and destiny in God from a distance.  We have to have up close and personal contact with God. Contact through relationship with Him, prayer, the Word of God and fellowship with other believers.  Forsaking any of these things puts distance between us and God.  Grab hold of God with everything you have and watch what starts to happen in your life.  You might go through some discomfort but that is the time to hold on tighter –  not let go.   When you have close contact with God, you can feel Him – the direction He wants you to go in.  You can move with Him because You know where He is leading.  The safest place to be is in the  silhouette of the Almighty!
